Google has rolled out a brand-new feature for Google Search, where every time someone would mention your name around the world, you will be notified instantly.
This feature is an add-on for people with a strong online presence both professionally and personally. Google’s “Stay in the Loop” feature in Google Search is where you can take advantage of the service by registering your Gmail ID. It will direct a mail every time your name is searched/ mentioned virtually.
It’s easy!! Here are the steps:
- Carry out a quick Google search of your name while you’re signed in. you will see a shortcut to My Account with a direct link for account settings.
- The Activity Controls page will display the text “Save your search activity on apps and in browsers to make searches faster and get customised experiences in Search, Maps, Now, and other Google products.”
- Once you have selected the option, the search will display a widget at the page’s bottom with “Stay in the loop” widget appearing at the right.
- When you select the “Stay in the loop” widget, Google directs you to a Google Alert form, displaying your name in quotations. Just hit the “Create Alert” option. DONE!!!!
P.S: In case of over-crowded inbox, you can fix the suggested by adjusting the settings with number of times you want to be notified. The feature is going live for iOS and Android users only for now.
