Move ahead with technology and Elon Musk, as plugging your computer and brain together might become a REALITY!
Tesla founder and Chief Executive Elon Musk have introduced the world to the idea of “Neuralink”, a company which allows exploring the connection between computers and human brains.
Long Neuralink piece coming out on @waitbutwhy in about a week. Difficult to dedicate the time, but existential risk is too high not to.

As Musk calls it, Neuralink will pursue a technology called the “neural lace”, which will enable people to interconnect with machines minus any human interface. Accordingly, the company will aim to create tiny electrodes, which can be placed inside human brain to download or upload thoughts from/on the computer.
The idea was initially shared last year at Vox Media’s Code Conference in Southern California. According to Musk, this is the basic idea behind it:
A third, digital layer of intelligence to human brains that could work well and symbiotically with the rest of your body.
In a time period of six months, he has hinted and revealed several aspects of this idea. He stated:
Over time I think we will probably see a closer merger of biological intelligence and digital intelligence. It’s mostly about the bandwidth, the speed of the connection between your brain and the digital version of yourself, particularly output.
He went on Twitter and replied to some tweets:
@elonmusk What abour neural lace? Announcement soon?

Musk feels like these technical advancements could be the ultimate key to unlock higher levels of cerebral functions. The first products so produced could help to treats mental disorders like depression, epilepsy etc. and neurological damages such as concussions, Alzheimer’s, Dementia and much more.
Definitely worth the wait!
